Dr. Nadia Bernaz joins the BHRE as Associate Member

We are excited to welcome Dr. Nadia Bernaz as an Associate Member of the BHRE. Nadia is Associate Professor of Law and Governance at Wageningen University in the Netherlands. Her main area of research is business and human rights and will work with us on our transitional justice research stream. Prior to joining Wageningen, she held positions at Middlesex University (London), the Irish Centre for Human Rights (National University of Ireland Galway) and Aix-Marseille University.  She is the author of Business and Human Rights, History, Law and Policy. Business and Human Rights: Comparing Experiences

In February 16th Dr. Martin-Ortega will participate in the international conference Business and Human Rights: Comparing Experiences. A Look at the Extraterritorial Perspectives organised by the Business, Conflict and Human Rights Network in the at the Catalan Parliament in Barcelona. 

The conference will address some of the most salient issues regarding the business an human rights dynamic, including the implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights; National Action Plans; extraterritorial application of state human rights obligations; corporate due diligence and access to justice and redress. It will also discuss the new initiatives of the Catalan Parliament to make Responsible Business as a Country Brand.
